While the needs of a 60-year-old recreational golfer and a 22-year-old Division 1 Pitcher differ greatly, at the core of physical development, all people need to possess a fundamental level of mobility, stability, and strength.

Mobility

The ability for one’s body to freely access various ranges of motion. This is especially important for young athletes as compensation patterns occur when there is a lack of mobility, which leads to injury.

Stability

The ability for one’s body to have control at various ranges of motion. An example would be holding an object overhead or a static lunge position.

Strength

The capacity to produce or withstand force. Power is an expression of strength – however without strength, power production will be limited.

Training For Teenagers and Young Adults

It is important for teenagers and young adults to correct mobility restrictions and learn HOW to move property. The fundamental movement patterns – squat, hinge, lunge, and upper push/pull both vertically and horizontally – should be mastered before putting the body under heavy loads.

Too often young athletes try to develop a large amount of strength or focus too much on power before they have developed proper movement patterns. This is a recipe for injury and/or stalled progress.

Coach Teel’s focus on foundational movement patterns, along with mobility and stability, will allow developing athletes to continue advancing throughout their lifetime.

Power, speed, agility, and sport-specific skills will be trained, however, these are secondary attributes to the foundation of athletic development for those of a young training age.

Training Adults of All Ages and Levels

Everyone has different fitness goals and regardless of your age or current level, strength and conditioning training should be designed to allow YOU to live a healthy lifestyle. Coach Teel will work with you on an individual or small group basis to help you accomplish your goals and live the best life possible.

Using Technology to Safety Track Progress

Coach Teel uses velocity-based training with the most current technology to safely track progress. Using the Push Band, Coach Teel can:

  • Track daily readiness for training

  • Track fatigue levels throughout a training session

  • Test maxes for lifts while staying at submaximal loads

  • Train strength, speed, and max velocity accurately using speed ranges
